Fortuna is the leading seafood group in the Falkland Islands, with major positions across Loligo finfish and Patagonian toothfish fisheries in terms of Individual Transferable Quota  holdings. Fortuna also holds a substantial position in the Illex squid fishery. This scale underpins long-term investment, operational resilience and a fully integrated approach to harvesting and marketing premium South Atlantic seafood. Fortuna engages in its fishing activities through joint ventures or subsidiary companies.

Austral Harvest Ltd

Austral Harvest Ltd reflects a joint venture model that combines Falkland Islands operational expertise with international seafood experience.  In partnership with our long-term partners, Spain’s Pescapuerta Group, the company has a focus on modern capability, efficiency and long-term fleet investment. Austral Harvest owns and operates a fleet of 6 trawlers, with four predominantly fishing for Loligo squid and two for finfish species and Illex squid.  With Falcon entering service in 2021, and Prion in 2025, our modern fleet is well positioned into the future.

Within the group, Austral Harvest represents a premium, outward-looking fishing business: rooted in the South Atlantic, supported by experienced shareholders, and focused on delivering dependable supply and high product standards to international markets.

Atlantic Catch Ltd

Atlantic Catch is Fortuna’s Falklands-owned commercial platform for its Illex squid business. Atlantic Catch Taiwan is a wholly owned subsidiary established to manage Fortuna’s Illex business in Taiwan, giving the group a more direct presence in an important overseas market. The business operates with 28 Taiwanese squid jigging vessels.

Together, Atlantic Catch creates a more integrated route to market, strengthening customer relationships, market access and commercial control. The business reflects Fortuna’s strategy of extending Falklands participation further along the value chain, from harvesting and production through to international sales and market development.

Georgia Seafoods Ltd

Georgia Seafoods Ltd is positioned as a premium Southern Ocean seafood company with a particular focus on both Antarctic and Patagonian toothfish, operating the longliner Tronio in fisheries outside of the Falkland Islands.  Georgia Seafoods prides itself on provenance, exceptional product quality and responsible harvesting, and an emphasis on serving international markets.

Within the fisheries that Tronio operates in, there is a considerable emphasis on contributions to science and high standards of conservation. We operate in some of the world’s most remote established and exploratory fisheries.  The result is a business centred on sustainable operations, traceability to source, consistency, and the supply of high-value seafood from some of the world’s most remarkable marine environments.

Consolidated Fisheries Ltd

Consolidated Fisheries Ltd is the sole ITQ holder for MSC-certified Patagonian toothfish in the Falkland Islands and operates the new-build vessel CFL Hunter, specifically designed for the Falklands fishery. Established in 1994, the company is built around the principles of responsibility, sustainability and full traceability.

Fortuna is the major shareholder in Consolidated Fisheries, with all minority shareholders also based in the Islands. This makes the business a wholly Falkland Islands-owned enterprise, combining strong local ownership with the scale, capability and long-term perspective needed to operate in one of the Islands’ most valuable premium fisheries.

Within the wider Fortuna Group, Consolidated Fisheries strengthens our position in high-value toothfish and finfish fisheries while reflecting the Group’s wider commitment to stewardship, resilience and long-term value creation.

Loligo Seafood SL

A 50/50 Joint Venture with our Spanish partner’s Pescapuerta, Loligo Seafood adds specialist cephalopod expertise to the wider group profile.  As one of the world’s most powerful squid distribution businesses, we are committed to offering exceptional products with a premium service.  With exports from the Falklands to Vigo, Spain, we have a direct connection to one of Europe’s most important seafood trading centres.
